In fact, I am one who is voluntarily walking away from their house, because it isn't worth what it would cost to fix it up. I have money saved for moving that I won't touch. I pretty much know the area I want to live in. I guess you could call that a contingency plan.
I also started working full time from home doing freelance writing, and making money online like here on Mahalo, so I can carry my job with me wherever I go.
