how do i put a pix up next to my queston?

If you mean on your main screen, this is your avatar you can change it by clicking your name in the upper right corner where it says "Welcome *screen name*" There is a link below your current photo which is default that says "change profile image". You can change the photo that appears next to all your questions there.
If you mean to insert a photo within a question. Find the photo you wish to use, right click and go to properties. Copy the location url of the image and past it into your question.

Some photos don't always work. You can edit and replace photos if they simply show as urls. :)
