For me, it's about that "wow" factor -- extra effort. Is the post proofread? Easy to read (no huge chunks of paragraph)? Well-stated? Does it have photos and video? (This last isn't necessary, but for certain kinds of question -- recipes, for instance -- it can add a LOT.)
But when all the answers are great, it really can be arbitrary. Luckily, there are plenty of questions to answer, so you'll have lots of chances!
One thing I don't put a lot of stock in, myself, are "helpful" and "unhelpful" votes. My opinion's sometimes very different than that of others. And I do read every answer, not just the ones on top.

I've had this same problem (if you can call it a problem), many times. Here are several things I take into consideration:
1. Is one of those answering relatively new or maybe even brand new? I love to hear from new people who have interesting things to say, and I like to encourage them to continue contributing to our little home away from home.
2. If no-one is new (or several are), who answered it FIRST.
3. Did one of the group get more "helpful answers" votes from the group.
4. Finally, if I can't decide, I don't pick one and just let it go to the group for voting.
