How long do think it will be before you cancel your cable / satellite TV subscription?
How long do think it will be before you cancel your cable / satellite TV subscription?
I don't watch very much TV. What I do watch, I watch in carefully planned, segmented shows. I enjoy Fringe, CSI, etc.
All of the shows that I watch are available either online for free or for purchase on iTunes. I pay almost $100 a month for my satellite subscription and am seriously thinking that I would be better to put that $100 a month into iTunes video downloads.
What do you think? Is it time to drop cable for good?

I already do not subscribe to cable. I can find everything I want free on the internet. However, I do pay $10/month for a streaming CNBC Plus subscription, which is cheap by itself but would be expensive through cable as I'd have to order the most comprehensive package to get it. If they had an NBC Plus or HBO plus, I'd probably subscribe to those too. Perhaps one day they'll get with the program, so to speak.

My internet is cable internet and it comes on a bundled package of high-speed internet, digital cable and phone for only $119 per month for the whole thing and I have some of the fastest internet of anyone I've ever known. I love our cable company, so I won't be dropping them any time soon.
Sometimes, since I work so much on the computer, it's nice to curl up on the couch and step away from the computer for awhile, and since I didn't bother to do a TV tuner on my comp, I'm stuck with the big flat screen in the living room - ah, such a struggle...LOL
I think for me, as cheap as the bill is, I'll probably keep it.

Cable tv subscription gone
I only pay for the road runner that comes from time Warner. I stopped the cable part long ago when I realized there is a cable connection that comes into your house when you have road runner.. its just basic cable 6 or 7 channels but it keeps the boys happy...
