In a very real sense, absolutely every single one of our memories are incorrect. However, what counts is if they are correct enough to serve the purpose you'd like them to serve. If you can't remember an important detail and you're on the stand in court, that's a real problem. However, if you're trying to remember something positive about a time in your past and something negative gets skipped, perhaps that's okay. Memories will also fade and get even less accurate as time goes on, but of course there are certain things like photos or video that can help to keep things fresh and at least as accurate as you'd like.

My sister and I were both raised by the same alcoholic mother. My memories are dark and frightening while hers are relatively normal. So, I'm not sure which of us is right or maybe neither of us is. Mine could be jaded by the fact that I wasn't close to my mother and maybe she blocked a lot out. The truth could be somewhere in between.
