hung out at a friends house one night. Got close and did lots of kissing. then at the end of the night we slept together.
next morning left
he told his friends he doesnt think he performed at his best. I haven't heard from him and i havent called him.

It sounds like he may be embarrassed. It could also mean that he is scared of your reaction. I had this happen when I was younger, the man believed I would think less of him. Give him a call, or text him to see how he is doing. If you want to keep your friendship you will have to make the first step, he probably will not.
