Now that I am older and so many of my friends and relatives have been passing away, my biggest fear is wondering how long I'll live and how my life will end.
I see so much illness that I worry about being in poor physical condition at the end of my life and not being able to live a somewhat normal life.
I want to at least maintain my mentality for the rest of my life so that I can function to a point and continue reading and writing.
If I could free myself from this fear, I know my life would be much happier.

I suppose one fear I would like to get rid of is my fear of doctor's/dentist's!
I get so nervous in doctor offices even if I'm there for someone else. I know the appointment is not for me but yet I'm still terrified to be in the same building as the doctor or dentist! LOL I know, I'm nuts.

You are not nuts!! There are many people who are afraid of them. I for one get beligerent when trying to talk to a doctor. The reason is because I feel upset. Every time in the past I have gone to the doctor with a modicum of half a brain and asked KNOWLEDGEABLE questions, I have been treated with disrespectful answers and with moronic attitudes that are not part of their hippocratic oathe. My son was with me once, and his jaw dropped when I asked for an xray, so that we could be sure that it wasn't pneumonia. This was in 2007. My doctor told me, no, that I had had an xray in 2002, and didn't need one today. UMMM what does a 2002 xray have to do with the present circumstances? Nothing it had nothing to do with it. Many doctors have huge deficits in bedside manner, and somehow some of them create a doctor/patient = dictator/peasant distasteful feeling to over come the very people they are supposed to be HELPING.

Snakes and death frighten me. Or, (gasp!), death by snakes. I stepped on plenty as a kid with bare feet. We had a big colonial house with a detached barn. Needless to say, there was plenty of granite sills and walls and just big rocks for the horrible things (I live in NH, the Granite State). There is a "safe zone" in my yard and everyone knows better than to ask me to go underneath the barn where I live now. If I could I would build decks for every single building in the world, high enough to never allow the creepy things access. I would like to rid myself of this fear but am afraid I would have to actually see one or touch one and I can;'t handle such a dreadful thought.

My greatest fear would be to be involved in an accident and die on the spot. Maybe this fear was borne out of an experience I had 14 years ago when my mother, older brother and his wife figured in a bus accident. My mother had to undergo an operation on her head and foot. While my sister had dislocated her neck bone so she had a surgery on her neck too. I only suffer bruises and concussions in the head but it was a very traumatic experience for me.
Although with God's help and support of our family and friends we were able to survive and overcome that experience but that is the greatest fear that I have right now especially that I have my own family with two daughters that are still young and needs a mother to take care of them. So I always pray to God whenever I travel the He will keep me safe always and veer me away from accidents.

Planes. I am so scared to even think about going on a plane that I would rather spend 2 and a half days driving somewhere I want to go. There is always the possibility that my plane would crash, so even though I know that supposedly it is more dangerous to drive long distances in a car than to reach my destination a lot faster by plane, I hop in my car and sooner rather than later wish that I had a pillow to put under my sore bottom.
