Answered Conundrum Next Conundrum
If you saw with your own eyes an alien space ship crash into Earth nearby, would you run away from it, or run closer to it, to investigate?
You are positive this craft is not anything known to man, because you have experience with all forms of air craft. It flew for a short time before it crashed, and it seemed to defy gravity. (This is NOT something I saw, just a conundrum that sounded good).

Run away, run away, and live to see another day.
I'm the curious observer type who would find a nice hidden perch and watch OTHERS investigate. I don't think I'd be missing my chance to jump a claim on riches. And I can't imagine that I'd miss out on any "happy beams of healthy energy" a crashed space ship might be sending out.
Radiation? Violence? Disease? Fuel leaks & explosions? Electrocution? Toxic gas inhalation? Yeah, these are all things that might happen to the first few folks to jump down into that crater. PASS!
Now I wouldn't run too far, because how can I live possibly not knowing what ever happened? Just let the red shirts go in first. That's all I'm saying!

Definitely move in closer to investigate.
Like most people these days, I always carry a method for snapping pics, so I'd want to take a few as quickly as possible in case it's on fire and will burn to nothing, or in case it's from a planet with a non-oxygen atmosphere such that the ship and the occupants will be oxidized to dust in a short time.

Run away from it and get someone, maybe my brother to come back and investigate. It's handy if you have someone with you than when you're alone. I'll get my phone too to call someone I know about it so that when something bad happened to me or my brother while we're investigating, they know what caused it.
We could never know what could happen to us. What if they're bad ones and would try to kills us right? I'm not judging them but I'm just trying to be careful. I wish they're good one who just wanted to befriend us earthlings. ^^

I'd take pictures, hide, and see what's going on. (The pictures would be submitted to the news once I got out of there.) If there's any indication that things could be dangerous, I would flee, quickly but not loudly, towards civilization. But by that point, it might be too late anyway.
If they don't seem dangerous, I might approach them, but I'd be sure to drop my camera off first in case I didn't survive the encounter.

My curiosity and desire to be one of the first people to greet the extraterrestrials would far outweigh my fear of potential death. So yes, I'd approach the craft, because I'd rather take a risk to enrich my life than assume I might be killed.
