Yes, I do at times. I have a BS in Early Childhood and Elementary Education (combined.) Although college does give you tools that help, it boils down to 20% education, 80% perspiration.

If you think back to all of the teachers you've had, there were: A.) Some that prepared (and made class downright fun,) B.) Some that taught straight out of the book from day to day, and C.) Some that didn't care whether you learned or not.

Either way, all of the teachers above have at least a BS in education. States are requiring teachers to have more and more education, yet they do less work.

If you look back to teachers from the early 1900's, many didn't have a formal education, yet they had waaaaaay more work. They often lived in the one room schoolhouse they taught in, and were glad for it. Of course, there's a higher education in place now, offered to all students.

Although you do have to have a formal education to even be considered for a teaching job, in any state, it's a crutch. There are many teachers that get the job, because they are qualified, yet don't use the 80% perspiration. I have often wondered if this was the reason more and more schools are failing to meet the requirements for academic progress.

As you can tell, I'm an old school teacher. Sometimes, I think if we went back to the hard work scale, many teachers would be out of a J-O-B.

Hi ,
I think yes. It was at that time a better option but now I have to stay confident. It makes me feel like that's the destiny and have to have more faith.
We should consider every option a good way in life as every lesson is.
In fact I don't bother much now.
I do see many of the successful people has done it very well even without a university or hundreds of Diplomas.
How to choose the best college?

Honestly, no. I use the information I studied, and maybe more importantly, I use skills like time management, organization, and writing that I acquired while in college. College also expanded my awareness of the rest of the world quite significantly, so that when I need information, I search for it with the understanding that various perspectives, biases, and cultural frameworks will impact my research. I also wouldn't have been able to compete in the market and obtain my job without a degree because it is an expectation for my job, but even had that not been true, I think I do better because I have a B.A. I also need my B.A. in order to get my M.A. to transfer to a different career, but that's sort of beside the point.

I think people can do well without a college degree, and there are certainly other ways to learn, but I am glad I have mine. I feel like I put it to good use.
