Is it to early to put up Halloween decorations?

I think so, because I don't think people will really start thinking about it until October 1st. September is filled with so many other things, like tying any loose ends left over from summer and getting the kids back in school. I would definitely call October 1st fair game though, so you have my blessing to go 100% all out at that time.

Unless you have a Home Owner's Association that says otherwise, I don't see why you can't have Halloween, Christmas, or any other decorations out all year long if that's what you want to do!

Decorations for a particular event should go up in a reasonable amount of time. Its probably a bad idea to do it the night before as well.

The earliest that I'd suggest has to be October 1st... and thats if your a real early bird (or early bat).

If it was me then i'd drop it down to some time between October 10-15 if your going to do a BIG display or october 20 onwards if its a smaller scale affair

It seems to me that it is just a matter of personal preference, and I have already seen Halloween decorations at several houses. In fact almost a whole street a few block from where I live is already decorated, so I say decorate away...
