Is the Chief Exec/Managing Director supporting everybody else in an organization or are all the other employees supporting him? Or both?

I would say in any good organization it is both. The Chief Exec/Managing director should have ability to get a good overview of the company and be able to innovate process improvements.

I do feel that there may be cases where the other two situations may exist depending on the work ethic of the employees or the exec. . .
