Rolex or Breitling?

If you had the choice of giving (or receiving) a Christmas present, would you choose to give a Rolex or a Breitling watch? Why?

GREAT question! I hope we get more questions like this on ConundrumLand in the future. I would prefer a Breitling, and I'd probably also give a Breitling. However, in my opinion Rolex is a much more popular name in the general public, so if it was the person's first expensive watch, I might give them a Rolex so that it would be more recognizable to the people around them. I guess I feel that a Rolex should be first, but that Breitling is the way to go after that.

Neither. I rather have a Greubel Forsey quadruple tourbillon and if I could afford it, I would give one too.

I'm familiar with this watch. Quite nice, isn't it? Obviously, a quadruple tourbillon is overkill, but that's kind of the point. Good choice.

Yes, a bit of an overkill. I will settle for a Breguet single tourbillon. Quite a bit cheaper at $150K

Rolex is the original best swiss watch in the world. It's the Lamboughini of wrist watches, which means I could never afford this model.
