It should be enhanced a bit, to be extended from separation of church and state to also include separation of business and state.
Those special-interest lobby groups being financed by the super-rich and by multi-national big business are having an affect on government as overbearing as it used to be when the Catholic Church would dictate policy to France, and Portugal and Spain.
