My dad gave me the best advice.
If you don't listen then you are going to feel.
If you don't take care of your business then someone else is going to take care of it for you.

Never to let anyone tell me that I cannot do something. There is always a way. People that let others run their lives normally steer straight for the ditch. It is best for you to make up your own mind what is wrong or right. This has been true for me. I am a mother of 4 children and I work at home. I am sad to say that I did not get all the way through high school, but that is not going to stop me from getting my GED. People told me that I was not going to amount to very much and that sucess would never come to me. If I listened to all the things that people would have told me, I would be in the fetal position in my home.

I received lots of advices but the best one so far that I received is that I cannot dictate what others have to do or think. And when I became aware of this I became more understanding about my friends and family. That what I perceive is good for me may not be necessarily good for others. That each of us has our own priorities and that we have different personalities which makes us human beings unique.
Through this I can now understand why a friend or a relative will do certain things. I know now that I can only guide and give them a piece of my mind if they ask me to. But that's it. I don't expect them to do exactly what I say and I don't have anymore hurt feelings whenever my advice fall on deaf ears because I know that they also have a mind of their own and that they think differently. What matters now to me is that we have respect in each other's decision.
Even in my children, I am now controlling my parental authority. I know that I don't own them, my role as a parent is to take care of them, love them, educate them, and guide them through life. Career or love decisions, I am out of it.

To take the advice from those who have more experience than I do with any given problem.

Be in the moment. If you're working, work. Don't think about all the things you have to do when you get home. And when you're playing, play. Don't be worried about all the things at work or anywhere else. Be in the moment you're in and enjoy it to the fullest.

The best advice I've ever received is that whatever life throws at your way, keep on moving forward.

It's true right? Whatever troubles you get, you must always learn to stand up and face all your problems and move on with your life. Life is always going to give you challenges to go through, not really to make you feel like a loser but to make you a better person... to mold you into a stronger, smarter and patient person. Besides, we wouldn't be facing something we can't handle. :)

So to all of you, I impart that advice that up until now, keeps on moving me forward on this chaotic thing called life. ^^

I think I would have to say that you can not change anyone. Even though I am sure many of us would love to change a few things about our partners or maybe even a sister or brother. It is not possible to change someone and especially if they do not what to be changed. We need to except the person for who they are and without judgement.
