I can not function effectively without it but I will opt to buy the cellphone with the lowest emitted radiation. I know a lot of people are downplaying its potential hazard to health especially the risk of cancer. But I have to protect my health or regret it later in life so I am going to change my phone to Samsung impression.

10 best phones (lowest radiation)

1. Samsung Impression (SGH-a877)
2. Motorola RAZR V8
3. Samsung SGH-t229
4. Samsung Rugby (SGH-a837)
5. Samsung Propel Pro (SGH-i627)
6. Samsung Gravity (SGH-t459)
7. T-Mobile Sidekick
8. LG Xenon (GR500)
9. Motorola Karma QA1
10. Sanyo Katana II

Yes, cell phone are causing cancer because Single and double strand DNA breaks in brain cells increased after exposure to RF. Exposure to both continuous wave and pulsed RF (mobil phone) produced DNA damage. Double strand breaks, if not repaired, are known to lead to cell death.

Research by other scientists indicates that prolonged use of mobile phones may cause hot-spots to develop inside the brain, causing damage which could lead to Alzheimers disease or cancer (brain tumor).

Dr Henry Lai and Dr N. P. Singh from the University of Washington in Seattle believe the radiation changed brain cell membranes in the rats - and the effects are so severe that it could affect humans, too.

Cellular phone causes symptoms: including headaches, earaches, blurring of vision, short-term memory loss, numbing, tingling, and burning sensations, bad sleep, fatigue, Anxiety.

If they are then they'll join the ranks of processed foods, cigarettes, cleaning supplies and everything else you come into contact with.

I'm sure they probably are and when the new report comes out and indicates just that, it won't change a single thing other than the added technology to minimize the radiation and the higher prices of the "higher quality" brand name phones. As sad as it may be, today's world evolves around mobile communication, it has nearly become a necessity. We've been spoiled to the convenience and everyone will fall right in line at the front door of Verizon and U.S. Cellular for the brand new, less cancerous, and conveniently more expensive cell phones.

Get a hands and head free set for your car and put it on speakerphone. Or get a pager for a landline. If you feel as though you MUST have a cell phone try textmessaging. All of these methods will keep the phone away from your head and away from the brain (which is the cause for concern, especially in children). Or better yet, just dump the cell phone. I don't have one and am much happier without one.

Thanks for asking this question, keepon! I had seen another report on the upcoming study (maybe on CNN) a week or two ago, and it has been kickin' around in my brain since.

YES, we are sticking our heads in the microwave with this danger. And apparently, Bluetooth doesn't reduce the exposure; for that, you need a simple plug-in hands-free earphone/microphone.

If the report comes out, my family will react. Realistically, not by cutting out cell phone use, but requiring hands-free and cutting down or cutting out regular use.

Yes and bluetooth headsets look stupid on people (or people just look crazy talking to themselves with one on haha)...I mean I don't even own one for fear of walking around having forgotten that dumb thing and leaving it on my ear.

I think they are causing more than just cancer. I found out just this year, that my right hip has arthritis in it. I carried my cell phone in my right pocket for 10+ years for convenience. I never had hip pain until I got internet on the phone 5 years ago. So, in 5 years I got arthritis. I think these phones that use internet are getting online and auto updating themselves, and emitting radiation + RF frequency even while we are not actually speaking or texting on them. So, be forewarned, and keep the phone as far away from your body as possible if you use the internet at all on yours. Of course, my current phone, emits over 1. of SAR, so that could be part of the problem. However, when my current contract is up, I am going to CHANGE phones, and possibly carriers, because I want a lower SAR on my new phone.
