The summit of Haleakala ( The name Haleakalā is Hawaiian for "house of the sun") on the island of Maui in the pre-dawn morning.
If you greet the sun as it rises above the clouds on a crisp morning there then you know that life is good and the day takes on a special meaning.
There are many places on this planet that are wonderments and choosing one as a favorite is very tough, but of all the places I have been I do feel that this place,at that time, watching the first hints of sunlight touch the earth above the clouds touched my spirit unlike any other place I have experinced.

Haleakala is one of our National Parks and if you ever journey to the island of Maui, if you don't do anything else take the early morning trip to the summit of Haleakala to greet the sun, you won't be disappointed.

Mine would be Yellowstone National Park. I love nature. It is so varies and beautiful yet still pretty wild. Sighting wildlife is always a bonus and there is a lot to see. The scenery is wonderful. Don't forget the thermal features.
I never get tired of Yellowstone.

My favorite place to be is the family campground. It's out in nature and I am surrounded by extended family members. I know I am safe there and I can leave my camper and it will not be ransacked.
Out among the trees, beside the creek, wild life and family members what could be better?

The summit of Kebler Pass in Colorado in fall at the peak of fall colors, watching the aspen turn various shades of gold, orange, and russet.

It's a dirt pass connecting Paonia to Crested Butte, accessible to all vehicles, but relatively isolated.
Listening to the wind blowing through the leaves in the aspen groves and breathing mountain air, I find my center.
