I would have to say Chrismtas morning with my parents---we always had tomato soup (yes!) with popcorn in it for our mid-morning brunch. The popcorn was supposed to be snowballs...the red was the color of Santa's coat. I was always so excited to have popcorn soup. :)
There are so many more memories I have, like planting our Christmas tree after the holiday---my parents always bought a live tree. As the years went by we had a backyard lined with trees since 1965, when I was 2. When my parents passed away and we sold the house in the mid 2000s, I was heartbroken to find out that the people who bought the house cut down all of the trees.....
Thanks for this question...brings back a lot of great memories!

My most treasured holiday memory is going to get a real Christmas tree every year. My mom would pack cookies and hot chocolate and my dad would bring the saw and sled. We would go to a tree farm, trek through the snow and after a couple of hours my bothers and I would finally agree that we found the perfect tree. We would go home and decorate the tree the next day. My husband and I have continued this tradition with our famiy.
Here's a picture of my daughter on our annual tree hunt, we didn't have snow that year.

My first christmas with my new husband and new baby daughter 10 years ago. It was the very first time I ever got to help put together an artificial christmas tree, first time trying to figure out how to string the lights, getting to go to the store with my husband and baby girl to pick out our very own ornaments to decorate our very own tree. Then getting to see the wonder in my 2 month old daughter's eyes as we laid her on a blanket facing the tree so she could watch the blinking lights.

I had been away from my family for several years, and did not know if I would ever return to them. That first holiday back (it was a thanksgiving) was something I'll never forget, and may never be surpassed. Unless you've experienced it, I don't think I can describe it.
