I ALWAYS check my email accounts first to find out about job leads (I work from home as a freelance copywriter), read some news of the day (either on MSN, Yahoo, or MSNBC), check my facebook account to see what my friends and family are up to, play with my dog on FooPets and then sometimes do some random surfing on things I want more info on.

I start with email, then usually check LATimes, CNN and NYTimes to see what is going on the world. After that, I usually log on to Mahalo to check my account balance and to see if I have any Direct Questions.

Sometime during each day, I can pretty much guarantee that I will log on to Facebook, check my bank account and read any new Twitters. If I am online at home, I read TMZ.

I do have a couple websites I check on a semi-regular basis...LOLCats and LOLDogs. I also like Texts from Last Night. Sometimes, you just need a laugh.

I check my e-mail first, and then go to youtube for a few videos to watch. And then I go to Associated Content to write and submit some articles, and then maybe I come here or go to MSN and chat with my friends, and then I go to some other news sites or espn to check out what's going on around the world lately, and then I log off!!!!!!!

Oh Boy.

My homepage is Mahalo.com, so when I log on I am instantly reminded of exactly what I need to be doing.

My day job is monitoring Mahalo Answers, so whether I plan on being on the clock or not, I am at this point on Mahalo scanning the front page for anything that needs to edited or moved. I progress to the abuse reports, since my day begins at 9 PST, my partner on MA @lesliec usually has this section all wrapped up, because she starts in the EST zone.

So I decide at this point to login or to fart around for a bit, if I fart around it includes watching last nights hockey highlights and checking out to see if there was a new Daily Show from the night before.

No matter what course of action I take, I am reminded of my email, if the label is blue (it's always blue) it means something is waiting for me.

I'll check my email and 95% of these are Mahalo related, so I get to work. Inquiries, bugs, comments, answers everything needs a response. During my email answering I will get notifications of what I need to do on Mahalo, generally answering direct questions and responding to direct answers, there is no moment in my day when these inboxes stop growing.

I enjoy meeting the new users and helping vets through their daily struggles, it's such a sign that Mahalo is growing as every week gets more challenging in this regard.

Based on my emails, my day will send through dozens of different avenues on Mahalo, 2-6-10 hours can go by before I reach the end of my mailbox, usually I don't and whatever is missed is simply carried over to the next day, when I wake up every inbox will be filled up again and the cycle continues. I don't mind because at the end of day it's 10 hours of solid work and effort put into improving the website, that work carries over and the more that is improved, the better the site will be for future visitors.

When I have breaks or time away, I'll check out... not in any particular order.... Fark, Reddit, TSN, Huff post, twitter and Facebook and MAYBE get some spare time exploring the web and if I'm lucky get to type out a solid blog post.

That is my internet routine.
