Conundrum Next Conundrum

When having dinner at your house, your friend's child always sits in the same seat. During a major clean-up, you discover...

... multiple pieces of bubble gum stuck to the underside of your table top, that you know could only have come from your friend's child. Some pieces have are not removable and others have left stains to your table. How do you tell your friend, and what do you expect her to do to correct the situation (if anything)?

I would not expect her to do anything, but discuss it with her child. I would even be hesitant to accuse her child, as many times that alone can break up friendships. Many mothers are blind to misdeeds of their children and will choose the child over the friend.
