When would you consider accepting to go on a business trip that would keep you from family on Christmas?

If the business trip was important sure, if it meant keeping my job or being suitable for promotion. Christmas comes every year but opportunities sometimes don't. If my job required it my family would understand. And I'd have Christmas with them when I got back, two for the price of one!
If it wasn't really required I might not go, it just depends on how important it was to my work. Family understand these things and the family benefits in the long run if my career is solid.
