Christmas, definitely.

With Thanksgiving, it's all about eating (and when I'm with certain friends, football). The former can only last for so long before you get stuffed or you start hating the leftovers, and the latter doesn't interest me in the slightest. Sure, it's nice bonding time with your friends and family, but it's not really special. It's like a dinner party on steroids.

Christmas decorations, eggnog, the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack, the smell of a fresh Christmas tree, and cold weather all mean much more to me. Sure, I love the commercialism hype with all the Christmas commercials they run the day after Halloween, and the Christmas-dedicated radio station that starts the week before Thanksgiving - doesn't mean I'll buy any more presents than I've budgeted for, or that I'll go shop Macy's for the "big three-day event" coming up. But it brings me back to a bit of childhood, and I get presents! :)

Thanksgiving by far!

One of the things I am thankful for is my family so it is a very natural fit. Christmas feels a bit forced with some of my family focusing on the the birth of Jesus Christ and others just trying to relax and have a good time. It is the time of year that I feel a bit uncomfortable around everyone, I would stay home for Christmas every year were it not for pressure from my family.

Christmas, everyone gets so much joy from watching the kid's faces when they rip open their presents. Then the kids have something to keep them occupied so the grown ups can visit.

Thanksgiving is less hurried with no presents to open. So I think that Thanksgiving is alot more opportunity to just talk and enjoy each other's company.
