I thank God for all that I have received during the year. For the tangible and intangible. For my health, sustenance, intellect and opportunity; not just for myself of course, but also for all those close to me, family and friends.

Mostly, I curse whoever came up with this tradition that winds up cornering me into a long meal with a large family of out-laws ( that's like in-laws but when you're not married).

Undoubtedly FSM allows this to continue because I keep forgetting to keep up Talk Like A Pirate day the way I should.

I thank the universe and the god and goddess above for the many wonderful blessings. The universe has been very kind to me this year, and I'm more than happy to give a positive thought of thanks on this special day, and then go out and attempt to repay my gratitude by doing something good for others.

Also I thank my family and friends for being a comforting and wonderful part of my life.

And then I thank myself and the liquor store clerk for remembering for the wine so I can easily tune out my obnoxious family.
