Would you give someone a "divorce voucher" as a Christmas gift?

Some lawyers in London are selling them:

I don't think it has to be cruel, but I would be very apprehensive about buying one for someone for a number of obvious reasons. That being said, one of the less obvious reasons that I wouldn't buy one as a gift is that you're interfering with the natural process your friend or relative would normally take when shopping for a lawyer. The onus is now partially on you to make sure that they have the best legal representation possible, and that's not something I would ever want to get involved with.

• True, you might be interfering with the process by giving such a thing, and you might not really know how good those particular lawyers are with divorce cases. Thanks for answering!

No I think it is a cruel gift. Why bother giving a gift at all if it is meant to hurt. I think it is just sad. I hope I never find out there is a problem in the marriage like that.
