A Florida man left his wife after he won the lottery and now she is being evicted. Do you think you'd still be with the same person if you won the lottery?

I have seen articles about people holding off on divorces due to the economic climate, so this doesn't surprise me at all. That being said, I don't think winning the lottery would change any of my current relationships from my perspective. However, it would be amusing to see how the perspectives of others changed.

In my current situation, I believe I would remain by the side of my significant other, because she has stuck with me through the hard and trying times. I probably would change a lot of things, for instance I wouldn't be driving my 10-year old car or living in an apartment, but I could not imagine that it would change my mind about the one that I love so much. It may have been that the guy who left his significant other did not have a good relationship and/ or was already looking for a way out, which is not so in my situation.

Winning the lottery can be just as traumatic on a relationship as experiencing a massive economic or emotional loss. Relationships are never really brought to a true test until they have to face a traumatic event. Although, the sudden windfall of lottery winnings would certainly be a cause for jubilation, it could just as easily seal cracks in a relationship that is truly solid; as break apart one that is already brittle.

In my situation, I can state quite readily that winning the lottery would bring me closer to my partner. It is sad that for some the result would be to the contrary, but it is not surprising.

"If I paid you a million dollars would you get a divorce?"

Never.

If I wasn't 1000% happy with my wife I'd divorce her now.

There isn't anything I'd rather have than my marriage to my wife. The only thing that can separate us is death, and I'm working on that one...

Winning the lottery would just make it easier to spend more time with her and enjoying every moment we have together all the easier.

I know our first trip would be to Tokyo Disney though, stay for a month and rent out the entire park. Flying friends in from all over to enjoy it with us.

Absolutely! We've been through a lot together and we're both still here. I know our relationship could stay as strong as it is now. We play the lottery every week in hopes of living our dream of buying a ranch.

Why not? After all, what's lottery has to do with my better half. It will be more fun to enjoy the money with her by my side, along with my whole family. May be you had all the luck because of her. She was with me in my odd times, and she deserves to be there in my (our) good times too.

Anyway, I badly need to win a lottery. Just pray to God that I win it shortly.

Thanks
