Conundrum Next Conundrum
Your somewhat intoxicated friend stumbles to grab her keys off your counter and head to the door, mumbling she's going home because she's...
... tired and could possibly not stay up a minute longer. How do you keep her from walking out the door and drive home under the influence if she is strong-willed and stubborn?

First thing I would physically wrestle the keys from her if I had to so there was NO chance of her driving. Then I would offer her a place to rest and sleep it off. If she was persistant I would just keep trying to reason with her. But under no circumstances would I give those keys back. She would have to walk home or call a cab.

I'd take the keys from her. If she's drunk enough to be stumbling, I probably have a good chance of getting there first, even if I've been drinking myself. If she gets them first, I'd either get her to give them up or try to grab them myself. If that doesn't work, I'll follow her out to the car and keep her from getting in. This sounds like going a long way, but it's what has to be done -- there is NO WAY she can drive that car. Now, of course there's a line -- I wouldn't be physically violent -- but still.
Once I manage to get the keys away from her, I'd either find someone to drive her home or find a place she can stay. This could be my place if needed. It's the right thing to do -- I can't just leave her alone in that condition, especially when I have her keys!
