You're sitting around a fire with some friends. What do you drink? Why do you choose it?

What type of beverage and what brand. Not just "beer", but "PBR, (Pabst Blue Ribbon) because that's what all my buddies up here in Minnesota drink."

It doesn't have to be alcohol could be Earl Grey Tea or one of my favorites, Nestles Hot Chocolate cooked on the stove with great big marshmallows.

On a crisp fall night you could put a bit pot of spice hot apple cider right over the fire so that whoever wants some can ladle it out at will. All you need is a couple of containers of apple juice, some cinnamon sticks, a few fresh apple slices, and maybe a few cloves. Make sure you put the cloves and cinnamon in some sort of mesh cooking bag so you can pull them out easily before the flavor gets too strong. If you like citrus you could even add a slice or two of orange to the mixture for a little while.

A great option if you'll have kids around the fire.

I was wondering if we would get any hot cider suggestions. It's one of my favorites.

Oh, I'm a PRO at drinking around campfires! As an avid off-road enthusiast and camper, I have done my share. I always drink a few beers, preferably domestic. Something about beer and campfires just go hand in hand for me. Budweiser, Keystone, Coors – it doesn't really matter, as long as I'm with good people and having a good time! :)

Swiss Miss hot cocoa, doctored with a pinch of Maxwell House instant coffee.

It is a nice warm drink to shake off a chill and I always associate hot cocoa with good times and camping. It's what I had as a kid and it kind of stuck with me. Adding the coffee was something I started doing just a few years ago to add just a little more depth to the flavor.

I actually found some Swiss miss and Maxwell house, and I'm drinking it right now. It's delicious. I'm not around a fire because it's raining, but hey, this is pretty cool.

Bud Light. That's all I drink. And if they were my friends they won't try to change that.

Would have to be a bottle of bourbon.
Always the first thing we do once our trotlines are in for the night and the fire is roaring is to toss away the cork to a bottle and begin to pass it around the fire.
Nothing gets the tall tales flowing better then a bottle of bourbon being drained. No glasses allowed.

I live on the Beach. Camp fires are a way of life for me, and for some reason I really enjoy Dr.Pepper and Spiced Rum by the Fire. It goes down smooth, with more kick then Beer to keep the night rolling. The rum gives you the island feel when on the beach.

I personally like Killian's Irish Red beer. It's a dark, full-bodied beer and it was an instant favorite once my brother introduced me to it! I love spending Thanksgiving with my family because we usually fire up a large bonfire, burn whatever we can find and drink loads of beer. We stock up on maybe 6 different kinds of beer because there are so many of us. We let the fire warm us up and a nice cold beer cool us down and rile us up as we tell stories and just generally shoot the breeze!

Stones Green Ginger wine associated with good talk around the campfire on a freezing night is bound to warm the body internally with the campfire doing the outside.
