Are you in favor of re-evaluating Marijuana's Schedule I status?

The AMA is apparently supporting reclassifying Marijuana so that research into the drug will become easier to carry out. Do you think that is reasonable? Why or why not?

Well I'm all in favor of research and honestly if it helps even one person with some kind of medical issue than it's worth it. When you look at all of the problems with the current legal drugs including side effects and addiction and overdose issues and whatever else, it hardly seems like there could be any risk.

Besides, I'd never want to be the person that denies someone else something that could quite possibly make their life better. Whether marijuana is legal or not, I will always support at least researching it and the possibilities. You never know...

Since marijuana is a plant and not a drug, I think the best thing they can do is to leave it alone and stop calling it a drug. It's a weed with multiple uses, medicinal and otherwise. What I think they should do is to classify it as say...a weed?! In all honestly there are other plants similar to this one. This one just happens to be the easiest to grow and maintain..ya know, because it's a weed and all.

The only reason that want to reclassify it is so that they can make more money off of it. It's pretty much guaranteed that any research they do is in their interest, not ours.
