This opinion is not a substitute for qualified medical advice.

There is some evidence that alcohol (and therefore wine) can assist in lowering the pressure in the eyes. In cases where glaucoma is a consequence of diabetes, drinking wine (or any alcohol, as it will metabolize to sugar) is not advised. Also, drinking a glass of wine per day to holistically treat glaucoma will not lower the eye pressure as much as prescribed pharmaceutical medicines which are more effective. But as long as there are no restrictions from your physician, drinking a glass of wine per day might be a complimentary (and enjoyable) protocol.

As always, consult your physician and follow his/her recommendation.
