Well, it depends. If you are a breastfeeding mother, you should eat your meals on time even if you're not hungry and you should have snacks in between meals. Your baby depends on your breast milk so you should not skip meals because it is not healthy for you and your baby. And it is important for mothers to eat nutritious foods. But, if you are not a mother yet and you want to lose weight, you only eat when you are hungry but it doesn't mean you should not eat three meals a day - breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I don't need to be hungry if the food is good. I can admit that there are times when I eat something out of boredom, or just because it looks too tempting to pass up.
However, to maintain a healthy diet and metabolism, you shouldn't wait to eat until you are really hungry. This causes many of us to overeat to satisfy the hunger.
5 to 6 small meals or snacks a day, hungry or not. This will keep you from getting the munchies, and also will keep your body processing food, which helps your metabolism

No, not at all.
There are times when I am not feeling hungry at all, especially in the mornings, and I would often prefer not to eat until 10 o'clock or later. However, that's not particularly good for me and I'll try to eat a little something anyway.
I totally agree with Ritrzblok about the 5 or 6 little things throughout the day. It seems to create a nice balance and then you don't feel so full by eating a huge meal all at once.
For me, waiting too long means I'll get a headache or my stomach doesn't feel good, so the older I get the more I put in the effort to eat small amounts throughout the day. There are still occasions when I eat a large meal out at a restaurant or something, but that's not the normal thing for me anymore.
If I let myself, one thing I could easily do is eat popcorn all day long, hungry or not! ;)

Eating is my favorite hobby. I often have to force myself to take the time to eat a meal, but if the thought of a favorite food whispers to me, I'm lost - whether I'm hungry or not.
Unfortunately, I have a lot of favorite foods. Fried chicken, potato chips, chocolate ice cream, anything fried, candy, Asian food, and leftovers top the list of the foods with the loudest voices that call to me, convincing me that I must feed my craving and worry about indigestion later. I'll work my way through the available food, starting with the one who calls the loudest and continue eating until I can focus on things besides the cries of the tasty tidbits, knowing that they will be there in a half hour.

Of course not. lol If that would true, I would be a heck of a lot thinner than I am now. lol The truth is, you need to be hungry to eat or you just eat like I do.. when you want to no matter what. One good reason to eat is if it looks good to eat, the smell is too good to pass up and you gotta eat anyway.

One of my dad's favorite sayings is "Feed your hunger, not your appetite."
I really wish I would take this advice on a regular basis! Alas, I don't. I have been pretty good in the past 6 months or so about sticking to three meals per day. I am steadily losing weight, a little at a time. It would be a lot easier though if from the beginning I had not indulged in all those pop tarts, scoops of ice cream, cookies, and second helpings.
No, I don't have to be hungry to eat! I would be surprised if anyone said they did.

I only eat two meals a day. Either breakfast or lunch and always dinner. Sometimes I'm somewhere and get offered food and I'll eat it if it's good but then that ruins my dinner. Snacks are what I don't have to be hungry to eat- chips, pretzels.

Not at all. I love food and I can eat anytime I want. I also crave food even when I'm not hungry. I also feel the need to eat when I am idle and have nothing to do. Watching food shows, reading cookbooks, and writing about food also makes me want to eat. I try to control myself not too each too much to keep my weight at least steady.

Personally, not at all. But with me, it's strange. I rarely, if ever, get hungry; I almost don't really know what it feels like. I'm neutral most of the time as far as hunger goes.
You'd think this is a good thing, but it isn't, really. Without hunger, I eat when I feel like it. And since food tastes good, and eating is less boring than doing nothing, I feel like it most of the time. It takes a lot of willpower just to remain within my calorie limit for the day. I'd give anything to be able to eat when I'm hungry, instead of eating when I want to eat, or have a craving. It's a wonder I haven't eaten myself out of house and home and that I don't weigh that much.
