Conundrum Next Conundrum
Do you work out?
My mom bought us a gym membership for Christmas. I am doing my best to swim every day. I love to swim, so it is not difficult to talk myself into. Is there any exercise that you love? Is there something you do for exercise every day, even though you don't love it, because you know it's "good for you"?

I like to walk but.. won't be doing that till it's warm enough for munchkins outdoors. i am doing the P90X workout program in an attempt to lose the pregnancy weight.. it's... tough stuff..but it's working. I wouldn't however do it if I didn't have 20 lbs to lose..I would not call it fun.

I used to love running and went to the gym for two hours every day right after work. I did not have to pick up my children until 6 pm and so I usually had almost 2 hours to spend working out and staying fit. Then we moved and I quickly lost access to a gym. I had only exercise DVD’s at home and since I was no longer working at the time I quickly lost all motivation to make an effort to exercise. After staying home and going to school for over 4 years, I finally found myself almost 30 lbs heavier and with less enthusiasm than ever to lose weight and get back into a functional exercise routine. At the moment I am still struggling to convince myself to make that effort and sometimes I will actually get up and do it. And other times my mind cannot convince my body to become active. I have started taking longer walks with my dog and doing simpler, more every day things that would help me remain active versus trying to engage in hardcore exercise routines.

Sure, I work out. I walk the older dog for short distances several times per day on the leash to keep her active without letting her get too wild so she doesn't hurt her bad leg. I play with the younger dog many times per day-- especially by throwing the ball or other toys for her until I think my arm will fall off and by goofing around in the yard in general. I vacuum almost every day. I go up and down the stairs over and over with the laundry. I do all the never-ending dusting, washing of dishes, scrubbing of toilets and sinks, bathing of dogs and every other household thing that needs to be done. I also do all the yard work by myself. Along with all the usual stuff related to the house plus the errands, shopping, etc., I almost always have a project going on such as the painting of a room.
I'd rather go swimming! :) I used to love that so very much. Maybe one of these days I'll get a membership somewhere so I can do that too. Just being in the water is so nice, and I remember how great that used to make me feel, and how relaxed I would be afterwards.

Answering in all honesty, no, I do not workout. I realize that this is not the wisest of choices. It is my intention to modify this before I get older. The importance of exercise is clear to me. Sadly, it is difficult to incorporate it into my schedule.

Yeah! I workout daily (except on Sundays). I generally jog for 5 kilometers, followed by cooling down exercises and stretching. I also go for swimming in summer when the swimming pool in our club is ready and I love it.
To keep myself interested in work-outs, I think of celebrities like Bruce Lee, Jean Claude Van Damme, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Tony Za etc. who keep themselves fighting fit. But above all, it is the thought that "It is good for me" that keeps me driven.
Thanks

I love to swim also! I will swim everyday two or three times a day in the summer. During the winter I kind of have the blahs so I have to make myself work out. I do pilates and Wii EA sports active. I like to talk walks if the weather permits.
