Does eating a snack before working out reduce the impact of the workout?

Does eating a small, reasonably healthy snack before working out decrease the weight loss/fat burning associated with the workout? Is it best to always avoid eating right before working out?

No, this does not affect the fat-burn of the workout (in general). You do not want to OVER eat, but have a balanced snack is a good thing, actually. What you DO want to do is recruit some muscles for fat burning by doing some quick, low-weight, high-rep weightlifting before beginning your cardio.
