If she were the only match and you were running out of time?

Here is my straight answer. I would not accept a kidney at the cost of my HIV-Positive sister's life. I would rather die seeing her alive than live on her corpse. Donating a kidney will shorten her life and make it more miserable.
Moreover, technically and ethically, it will not be permitted by doctors; kidney transplantation being a very critical task with a low success rate.
Hope nobody ever faces such a day. May God bless everyone. Thanks

I would not accept the kidney, not because of being scared of HIV. I wouldn't want the virus at all but it is highly treatable, more so than ever. However, my sister would have health issues, would it be fair for me to ask her to go through something that could really make her health go down more? Possibly making her life very short? I wouldn't be able to ask my sister to do that for me. It would be selfish of me.

No. It might sound cold hearted of me, but think of the drawbacks... the over population in the world, and the high cost of healthcare,.not to mention the fact that you would really diminish the quality of your life by basically giving yourself an incurable, deadly disease.
On the other hand, HIV has become a manageable ailment. I'm not sure how your already compromised health might effect the disease, but best case scenario you buy yourself another ten, maybe fifteen good years before AIDS starts making an impact on your life.
Here is a link that is somewhat unrelated, but you might find interesting.
