I wouldn't like it... but on balance I would want to know. Simply because if I knew then I could cut out all of the meaningless (but necessary) stuff that i have to do... work, meetings etc... so that i could spend the time i have left with my family and friends, and also make sure that there are arrangements are in place for their security

That is something I allready know. 6 months or 27 minutes and 14 seconds. Is the same.
First of all, the question is a highly phylosophical one and have noo practical use. One can answer anything to this, once put in the face or cruel reality, he/she would react ... random. That's first reason for is not practical "problem solver" question.
Next, let's face it: everybody claim they want to know the future, but ALWAYS because they hope for some good news predictions. Is the reason people belive in astrology or .. wizards. If is a "good news" prediction, hurray !. If is an "not good not bad" one, the seeker will inconsciously see something good inside. If is a bad prediction it will always end to be called as "heh, it can be a mistake or missinterpretation, it can't be that harsh ..". Let's be honests with ourself: we do not look for bad news.
Finaly, the prediction "you will die in 6 months" may be inaccurate because in the following 6 months one will have one chance to die (before 6 months) in every second/minute/hour. Therefor 6 months is a relative term and is so far away ...
To all this one can come and put on the table billions of such a medical prediction which come true. Ok, but there are exceptions and outere are "predicted" people who lived long after the term and some even get cured.
Now, let's go back to the question and to give an answer: If I would be sure I will die on a certain date, first i will try hard to find way(s) to avoid and survive the term. Simultaneoslky I'l' try hard to let something memorable "behind", something which to keep me in others's mind even if I'm gone (in fact, that is something we, humans, we should do it anyway, yet we continue postpone for a later moment ..).

Yes, I would want to know.
I can't imagine a scenario that I would not want to know everything about my personal medical details.
I would want to prepare. I'm not one of those folks with a bucket list, but I would still want to make sure that my relationships and estate was in order.
