I have a scrap book started for my daughter. It was to chronicle her first year. It's about half done and she's going to be two in a month. So, you can see that I haven't gotten very far on it - so I guess you can say I'm not a scrapper. I like to do it but I'm very picky about things being perfect in these things - lettering, decorations, etc, even though I know they aren't supposed to be. Then I look at what other people do in their books online for ideas and think - holy cow I'm not cut out to do this. How do they think of those thing?
So, I'll hopefully finish that scrap book and maybe start another one. I guess I'm better really at the pre-formatted scrap book pages that you can do on sites like snapfish. There I just drop my pictures in the window and add some text and VIOLA! insta-scrap. I think I'm going to go back maybe and make some more. The cost isn't anymore than buying all of the scrapbooking stuff really and it actually gets done.
I should mention i have a friend who's son is seven and she told me last night that she has 20 scrap books on him - I'm definitely out of my league in scrapping.

I tried scrapbooking - once. It was really nice to see all my pictures laid out in such a nice format with notes and designs around them to make things pop. But it was so BORING to put together. I know a lot of people who really love scrapbooking, but it's just not for me. If you're like me and can't stand spending that much time on projects like this, but really like the end result, I recommend buying a scrapbooking kit or a themed photo album with room for personal notes. These can give you the nice results you need, without having to invest quite as much time and money.

Yup, exactly two pages when my older son was first born. I created one beautiful scrap book page for his first meeting with Daddy and one with his day meeting the rest of my family (grandparents, great-grandparents, uncle, etc). After having invested in a complete scrapbook kit, I stopped cutting, arranging and pasting and just added the remainder of our baby photos to our album the regular way. I had great intentions and wanted to preserve every precious memory of my beautiful new baby boy. However, I quickly learned that once he was born my free time in which to create cute, colorful pages was quickly becoming very limited and so I gave up on the pretty scrapbook pages and grabbed hold of the camcorder instead every chance I had. I have a great amount of photos of my now 11-year old as a baby, as well as an assortment of video tapes including his first solid foods, his first steps, and his first time using the potty by himself (not to mention the many attempts along the way). I have not scrapbooked since.

Yes, I love scapbooking. I have one started that includes my whole family. I love placing stickers and edging. I have actually had a scrapbooking party, in which I made enough to get the scissor kit and a few other things. I bought both my daughters as well as my oldest girl granddaughter books and kits.

I made exactly one nice scrapbooking style page, and quickly got bored with the whole process, as another poster said. I even gave up on putting our vacation photos in a regular album. I have ten empty albums standing by our box of photos. Our old photos we just pass them around as loose pictures, albumless.
Anymore, we just take digital photos and save them on the computer and show them to friends on the TV. I think everyone will be doing this in ten years.
