Installation of solar panels at homes require two important stages.

The first and foremost thing is--- The first step to solar panel installation is paperwork.
secondly---Physical installation ( the most precarious part of the installation process.)

maadhu's got it right, that there is paperwork involved, but also that the process is precarious. Precarious is defined as: "dangerously insecure or unstable; perilous;" If you read his e-zine article, he mentions that it will take at least 2 or three people to install the panels. Likely if you are going to install them yourself, these other people will be friends or family members. Unless your friends have great attention to detail and construction experience, do you think you would want them to help you install a complex electronic system made of glass that needs to last 10 years or more to payoff it's initial costs?

This is assuming that this project is even feasible at the prices described in maadhu's article and website. The average person is really better off hiring a professional solar panel installer to install the system for you. To find one in your area, this site might be useful: http://www.getsolar.com/
