How often does a bed comforter needed to be washed?
I know that sheets and linens need to be cleaned regularly, but washing the comforter can be cumbersome. How often does a big comforter need to be washed?

That depends on if you sleep with the comforter or not, whether the comforter is used with a top sheet, whether you have pets, and whether or not you are "active" in bed. If you have pets who sleep in your bed or if you entertain in your bed often, it should be washed weekly. If you protect it with sheets or blankets during use, you can wash it twice a month. If you remove it from the bed and do not use it except to cover the bed during the day, wash it monthly. If it's too big, consider taking it to the laundromat.

You can get a duvet to make washing easier as the cover is removable, they also make comforter covers now I think, with one I'd say the blanket itself only needs to be washed about once a month(note: a real devut however cannot and should not be washed only it's cover), without I wash mine every week and a half. I also have a toddler and crumbs though.

I'd actually have to say once every 2 weeks, especially lately to combat things like dust mites and germs.
And with the H1N1 flu going around can you really take ANY chances ?
The more you wash your sheets and comforters the better.
Kind Regards,
@XDS
