I love houseplants, but my apartment gets very little sunlight. Does anyone know of some plant types that do well with minimal sun exposure?

Spathiphyllum (peace lily)

The African violet (Saintpaulia) is an excellent flowering house plant which will grow and flower under low light intensities found in the average home. Where there is insufficient natural light, they can be grown and flowered successfully entirely under artificial light.

Sanseveria, also known as snake plant or mother-in-law's tongue, grows very well with little light. They need very little care, too, just water them about once a month, dust them occasionally, and ignore them the rest of the time! I bought my dad a nice one and he watered it to death, gave me the poor remains, and I put it in the corner and basically forgot about it. Luckily, the roots hadn't been damaged and it began to grow like crazy! The tallest leaves are about 3 feet tall now. There are some varieties that remain smaller and bushier, and are just as easy to care for.
