For how long do you keep friends' text messages?

Is it because you just don't delete, or want to remember certain ones (guilty as charged) or need to remind yourself of things?

I delete them all as soon as I read them. My husband still has every one he ever received. Everyone is different, I think. I don't want the clutter. I think he needs to remind himself of things.

I agree with Cherise and getting rid of clutter, life is complicated enough. As a matter of fact, I don't want nor have a cell phone and have never missed it. My husband has one out of neccesity but I have made the observation that it annoys him more than anything. And don't even get me started on teenagers talking and texting while driving, actually anyone doing that........

My husband had 245 received texts he kept. He cleaned all his other folders and forgot this one. I was trying to fix his phone (we just replaced it 3 days ago) and saw he never cleaned it out, so, your hubby is not the first one to keep stuff forever! The more I think about it, the more I wonder if all those texts broke his phone?!!! heh

I get rid of them as soon as I don't' need them any longer. If it is a reminder I keep it until I have taken care of the situation. Otherwise I delete as soon as I finish reading it.

I clear mine out monthly, on the day my cell phone provider starts charging me for new minutes/texts because it helps me keep track of my texts & I don't have unlimited. If I find that one of the texts is important, I put it into the Saved and locked folder. I only have a few of them, but they were memorable, and if I want to see them again sometime, they are there to view.

I sometimes keep messages from my husband when he's out of town just because I miss him. I secretly listen to them before falling asleep or when I just really wish he was near me. *shh* Don't tell him, he thinks I'm just fine on my own.

But for the most part I delete messages from everyone else when my inbox is full and I'm alerted that it will save no more. It's not that I want to keep these messages, it's that I can't be bothered to delete them until I simply have to in order to receive more!

I know, I know...I'm a lazy text hoarder without good reason.

I used to delete them if they were unimportant or boring. Now with my iPhone I'm first of not sure how to delete them, and second, due to the nature of the texting display on the iPhone, it's quite nice to have them to keep track of the discussions with my friends etc.

I used to keep them all, but a few years back when my nieces and one sister first got their cell phones they began sending anything and everything.

I got tired to the jokes and pics which were freely available and old on the net, being sent in triplicate to my phone, so I shut off all text messages. I cannot see paying for text messages of crap I can find on line freely. I know now there are texting plans but I am too used to no texting I do not miss them.
