Yes and by saying I wasn't talking to you I was talking to your girlfriend. This of course was when I was young and girls hung out in crowds. Or in a bar by saying that's OK I had to go to the bathroom anyway.

Yes, and I just swallowed my pride and said "I understand", walked away and never spoke to them again. Of course, I was like 14 I think.

I have, in fact. I was 14 years old (which might have had a lot to do with it); he was 17, and I'd had a crush on him for almost a year. We were just friends, though; nothing more. My best friend at the time eventually told me to confess it. Needless to say, he was weirded out and didn't really know what to say.

Can't say I eventually saved face, though; in fact, it ended rather poorly. We grew apart, and I haven't spoken to him since. I wish I had a more uplifting story, but that's how it went. Not a great confidence booster, eh?
