There is no such thing as a good time to break up!
If you are looking for a good time to break up, you might end up staying in this relationship the rest of your life. Right now, it's Christmas. Next thing you know, Valentine's day is coming up. Oops, now it's his or her birthday. Oh, now it's summer. Oops, now it's the big Labor Day weekend. Ack! Can't break up on Halloween... It just goes on and on and round and round. You can't win, looking for a good time to break up.
If you're not in it for love, then get out, already.

When it comes to ending a relationship, the best time is when you feel that the relationship is over. If that happens to be around a holiday season than so be it. By prolonging the relationship, you are leading the person to believe that all is well, and this could cause more hurt in the long run. It's important to be honest throughout the relationship, so that if it is worth saving, you both have an opportunity to work on it. And if it is not in your best interests to continue, it won't be a complete shock.
