Answered Conundrum Next Conundrum
The New Oxford American Dictionary has chosen "Unfriend" as it's "word of the year". Of course they define it in the Facebook sense.
What would be involved if you wanted to "Unfriend" a person in the real world? Have fun, this is meant to be light-hearted.

What'd be involved in real-world unfriending? Simple. Just carry the analogy to its conclusion. When you de-friend someone on Facebook, you no longer have to be presented with their day-to-day activities -- undoubtedly fascinating to a particular set of people, but completely irrelevant to you.
So real-world unfriending would be the same, which is why it isn't possible in real life. You wouldn't uncomfortably bump into them when you don't want to see them. You wouldn't be confronted with their lives, for you to parse and react to. They'd disappear from your day-to-day life.
Hm. Sounds pretty cold when you think about it that way.

I would just slap them a sticker on their forhead with BFF crossed out on it. Of course that is nonsense, but you said to have fun. LOL I could just as easily print up some capitlal lettle L's to give them, too. That way they would be double X-BFF slapped.
No, really, friends are hard to find. I don't make them lightly, because real true friends are hard to find. I never stop being their friend first. When they decide to move further away, it's usually a gradual thing. If I want them to stay, I fight the slip sliding away, and keep on calling, writing emails, and do stuff with them, as time permits. If I find myself not wanting to call, write, or do stuff with them, then they did something terrible to me in an awful bad way, like abuse my children, or try to sleep with my husband. We are talking SERIOUS offences. lol
