It is a matter of earning trust. We believe in people we know like our parents, brothers and sisters, friends, relatives and many more whom we know a lot. We trust them because we already spent some time and experiences with them.

As to people we don't know or we are not familiar, we lack faith to them. Probably, they hadn't proven something to us in the past. It is also possible that they caused troubles to us the last time they promised something.

Physical aspect can also be a factor. Example, two strangers came to you asking for a favor, one is decent looking while the other is not. Who would you trust more? I can safely say that you would choose the decent one. Trusting someone is not easy that is why we are very careful giving it.

Nowadays, we only trust people we know, people with integrity and credibility. It is hard to give it away to someone because once trust is broken, everything will never be the same, there will always be a doubt in our hearts.
