The sweetest thing someone did for me was he offered his shirt to cover me from the pouring rain. He was sick at that time and so was I. I did not really expect time to do such thing. But I really did appreciate it that much.

My now husband, who is military and the least romantic person in the world, gathered all our friends together and my children (behind my back) got down on one knee with a practiced speech and very nervously proposed to me. I cried, he cried, and they cried. It was wonderful.

He goes out of his way every day to let me know I'm special. He sings silly love songs to me even though he's tone deaf and I love every second of it. Last night it was "I Miss You" by Incubus.

To see you when I wake up
is a gift I didn't think could be real.
To know that you feel the same as I do
is a three-fold, utopian dream.
You do something to me that I can't explain.
So would I be out of line if I said,
I miss you.
I see your picture, I smell your skin on the empty pillow next to mine.
You have only been gone ten days, but already I'm wasting away.
I know I'll see you again
whether far or soon.
But I need you to know that I care
and I miss you.

This is pretty mundane, but last night we had 2 of our children home for dinner ( a rare event as we have 2 in college and one away at school). He got up and cleared the table so I could linger and chat with them.

It's the little things....

I live two time zones away from my family currently.
My Mommy sent me a coloring book with a nice set of pens a few months back.
This is my Mom's way of showing how much she loves me, since she used to get me fancy coloring books when I was a kid.

My boyfriend was doing some internet research for me, trying to find which David Attenborough documentary he'd think I would like. In the process, he found a coloring book that not only had cool animal pictures, but had a beautiful shark too.

He downloaded it and printed it out for me.
Just remembering and knowing what I like is the sweetest thing!

My sweetie will do anything to make me happy, but the most recent event came when I was feeling ill and he risked getting my germs to tuck me into bed and bring me soup. He poured me ginger ale and asked over and over if I needed anything. Being sick is a miserable thing but he made sure that I was comfortable, and able to rest and recover.

Hi,

That's not hard to answer. A week ago after having a really tough day with work, family and caring for a 4 year old grandson, my husband went out and cut one of his huge prize roses for me. That night he had the bed turned down and the rose on my pillow.

This may not sound like a lot but for a man that has difficulty with the displaying of affection, this was a wonderful gift for me.

My boyfriend made me a full course dinner, it was amazing. He does it every now and then, but like you said it's just the small things that add up. He spends a lot of money on me, but i love when he doesn't have to, and he does cute things like this.

I have been dating this guy for about four months now and he is all about cooking and music. Honestly to me it was a bit of a wierd combination at first but hey he is much older then me as well; he has grown on me like no other. Although I just recently had a birthday and while everyone I knew was sending me cards, emails, flowers; he didn’t do either let alone come visit me. I began to wonder if he was drifting away from me and didn’t know how to tell me especially on my day- No, it wasn’t that at all, he was too busy writing me a happy birthday song especially for me. Once I heard it I couldn’t hold myself from crying; it truly was the best birthday gift I got.

My favorite was when I got up to take a shower (I always get up first) and there was a note on the mirror that said he made me a lunch and put it in the 'fridge. He was still in bed when I left, but when I ate my lunch at work, there was a love note and a little cartoon inside. It was really sweet and made my whole week.

My honey does so many things to make me happy. Tonight he gave me a foot rub, even though he wasn't feeling very good. He cooks dinner almost every night and constantly tells me how much he loves me and how lucky he is to be with me. The sweetest thing is really feeling cared for and secure in our relationship.
