Conundrum Next Conundrum
Do you have any guilty pleasures?
I mean so far as money goes, silly!
Do you buy anything or spend money on anything you know is just frivolous and wasteful, but you just don't want to live without it? For me it is desserts. I always have to have something in the house for dessert after meals. It could be cookies, candy, fruit or even yogurt, but I have to have dessert! I also sometimes buy magazines at the grocery checkout. They are stupid, I know! But I just love gossip, especially celebrity gossip.
What's your guilty pleasure? :)

My biggest guilty pleasure is cigarettes. I love to smoke! I'm not exactly sure why, but I would smoke in my sleep if I could. And I don't like "lights" or "reduced nicotine" or "milds". I smoke KOOL-100's, full strength. I know you're saying it's because I'm addicted to nicotine, and I probably am. But I love to light up a cigarette when I'm relaxing, when I'm nervous, when I'm answering questions, when I'm driving, well, pretty much, when I'm awake. For everyone who is compelled to send a comment telling me how bad it is for my health, and that it's a smelly, disgusting habit, and any other argument you have against smoking, save yourself some time, and don't bother. I've heard all of it a million times before and, guess what! I love to smoke! I'm not going to offer lame excuses, like, "I've tried to quit, but it's really hard" or "I'm weak", or anything like that. I love to smoke, and have never made a genuine effort to try to quit, and in all probability, won't. If I had only $6.00 to my name and I had to decide between cigarettes and food (for myself only), I'd buy a pack of cigarettes and smoke while I thought about what I was going to eat.

My greatest downfall, the wrecker of all my seemingly successful diets so to speak, is (and has always been) chocolate. I grew up with a grandpa, who lived through many times of food scarcity during World War II. Whenever he did find something delectable in his parents’ food pantry, he was often denied and the food was taken from him. Sweets, back then, were a luxury that many children did not get to enjoy. So needless to say that when the hard times were over and my grandpa was able to work and afford his own goodies, he quickly became overindulgent in many sweets and treats. Of course, he did not want to repeat the food denial he experienced as a child with his own child or grandchild (me), and so I always enjoyed an exquisite supply of chocolate (my favorite even then) and cookies whenever we visited. Fortunately, I was never an overweight child and even throughout my teens I was more on the petite side. But this addiction to chocolate has stayed with me through the years and I still sometimes feel the urge to purchase different bars and make them my midnight snack.

I guess I have a few guilty pleasures.
The number one guilty pleasure is cigarettes. I know it is horrible, but for now, it is a guilty pleasure of mine.
Another guilty pleasure of mine is like you mentioned desserts.
Chocolate cake is my favorite, with a big glass of milk.
I usually wait until I am done working, at 10 or 11 p.m. and then sit down with my cake and milk and find a tv show I missed, On Demand.
I look forward to my TV show and cake every night. It is my unwind time.
The last guilty pleasure is actually McDonald's. Occasionally for lunch we will get McDonald's and it is a big treat. First, I do not need to cook lunch and secondly, I do not have to clean up after the meal, Hooray!!http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3471/3254987831_c364390887_t.jpg

I have to admit to a few of my guilty pleasures. I have to keep some kind of sweets in my house. I’m diabetic but I know what I can and cannot eat and still be okay. Chocolate is a definite guilty pleasure that I totally enjoy but definitely know that I don’t need and can live without. I have to have some Wendy’s Frostys in my freezer—for just in case I need some chocolate love. If I’m having a bad day, a frosty can sure make me feel better.
Another guilty pleasure of mine is a VCR recorder. It costs me extra every month to have it but I just don’t know if I can live without it. I have it recorded to record my three soap operas everyday and also some of my favorite shows so I don’t miss them. Plus I have the pleasure of watching then whenever I want and fast forward through the commercials. It is definitely a guilty pleasure that I probably should not spend the money on. :-)

While trying to lose weight I’ve had to give up most of my food pleasures like pizza, desserts, and all those greasy fried things that are a staple of the south. I do still have a few guilty pleasures left. I’m with you Cherise celebrity gossip is something that I love and I buy a new gossip rag every Friday when we buy groceries. I also spend money on a DVR because I also love to watch reality shows! Survivor, Big Brother, Amazing Race I watch them all! Another guilty pleasure is cooking shows I figure if I can’t eat the food then I can watch it on TV and drool. LOL The reality cooking shows like Top Chef, Hell’s Kitchen, and Chopped are wonderful because it combines cooking shows and reality shows so I get the best of both worlds.

My guilty pleasure is ice cream! I don't have a real favorite flavor, just loads of them! Tutti-fruiti, chocolate, strawberry, fudge, vanilla, they are all great as far as I'm concerned.
When I have a chance, I love to skulk into McDonalds and try the current McFlurry, they used to do a Cadbury's Cream Egg variety, now that was memorable! There are also some great ice cream parlors where I live and I sometime dive in to satisfy my craving! I have to take a couple of minutes choosing one, there are about twenty flavors, decisions, decisions.
I was just as bad when I was a kid, always rushing out when I heard the chimes of the ice cream van!
I do buy some and eat at home, even on a cold day, I can sit by the fire eating one of my favorites!
I would love to go on a tour of an ice cream factory, a good one like Ben and Jerry's and get to try all the best ones, heaven!
