Well,I am a 26 year old female with little stability wanting to enlist in the Service should I with a 10 year old to look after?

I respect your desire to enlist and aid your nation, but your first duty is to that 10 year old. She is going through formitive years right now.
Do you know of someone or a strong family that you trust to take care of her? Could you understand & accept it if she chooses not to forgive you for going away?
If the answer is yes in both cases go ahead and enlist.

If you know that your child will be taken care of in your absence *and* you know that your child understands that you aren't leaving them just to leave them, but that you are going off to service your country and it's something to be proud of, then please, by all means, enlist. It's very important that your child understands why his/her mother is gone and what you are doing while you're away. It's commendable and something that you know will make your child proud. He/She may only be 10 years old, but he/she is so much smarter than you think! Talk to you child about it, see how he/she feels about it and make sure he/she understands that for as much as he/she is going to miss you that you're going to miss him/her 10 times more!

No! Don't do it! Wait 8 years until your child no longer needs you. You can get many different jobs that won't take you away for months at a time. Your child cannot get another mother. If you go, your child will try to replace you - and hopefully only with friends and video games, not lovers and drugs. That does happen nowadays, to ten year olds.
