If all your friends and family were where you live, but there were no jobs to be had, would you take a job on the other side of the country?

Oh heck yeah! Jobs are hard enough to come by right now, let alone a GOOD job! A good job to me would be something I enjoy doing and that pays $40,000 per year or more.
If the job was not within driving distance of our home, then I would probably rent a room near the job for the first few months while I was on probation, though. No sense moving my whole household until we know the job is permanent.

Depend on what side of the country. I will never move to rural area. I can't stand living where there are no malls, no good food, and especially no internet. If the other side of the country have this facility and I get a good job offer, I might try it. I've never lived away from my hometown and I think it'll be a great experience.

It is so hard to find a good job these days, I would sure consider it. I would feel like it would be a new adventure in life and besides, if the jobs were that plentiful and well paying, some of my family might move there also. :-)

Yes, I would. Right now here in Michigan it is almost imposible to get a job. I have considered doing this. I have family and freinds that live in other states and they are always trying to get me to move. Right now I am trying to end a 10 year relationship and then I might just have to take up an offer for a different state.

I would take a good job on the other side of the country. A good job would allow for vacation time and the money to travel to visit friends and family. Video conferencing, email, social media and cell phones insure that I would never be out of touch with those who mean so much to me.
A good job means greater independence and health insurance. As much as I love being around friends and family, I'd rather be able to take care of myself.
