That is going to depend on my own financial situation. I consider this to be the same as gambling- if I can't afford to throw the money away, I won't play. If I can't afford to not get money back, I won't lend it out.
I have lent money to my best friend- she told me what it was for. I didn't have it at the time, but I asked my then-boyfriend (now-husband) for it with me as a guarantor. He gave it to me (because he could afford to throw it away), she didn't repay, I paid him back about a year later when I had found a job.
I think that the worst part of that situation is that I haven't heard from her in MANY years(15 maybe)and I have no way of finding her: unlisted number, probably not online, no real idea where she lives now. I hope her silence wasn't because she was embarassed about the money, but I have no idea. I just know I'd love to hear from her.
I know I'd be more willing to lend if I knew the circumstances, but if I trusted that it would go for something "worthy" (food, rent, medicine) and not something "unworthy" (recreation, drugs, alcohol, clothes) I would lend it if I had it to loose.
Just know that it can change the relationship some.

I would give him the money RIGHT now. I have a special relationship with my best friend. We've known each other almost twenty years, and we rarely ask each other for things. When we do, though, it's given without hesitation or questions. If he needed $100.00, he would have it within minutes, with no payback date, no matter how bad I was personally hurting financially.
That's the really swell part of having a best friend. You can count on each other, and will be there for each other without batting an eye. At least, that's how it should be. Anything less and it isn't a best friend!

If I can spare $100 I would say yes. I've learned never to loan money to friends or family members, so it would have to be a gift.
On the other hand, my best friend is my husband and if he said he needed $100 I'd find a way to give it to him :)

i believe i would ask what its for and if they could not tell me i would tell them since they could not tell me what its for i want to be paid back within 2 weeks,but yes i would because i would do anything for my bestfriend.
