Answered Conundrum Next Conundrum
Did Rihanna make the right choice to go on 20/20 and talk about Chris Brown abusing her?
NOTE: I'm not blaming Rihanna in any way for what happened; I'm just very worried about how the public is going to perceive this.

Yes, it was entertaining and it had been a while since this controversy was brought to attention again. I would say, that this interview was mostly for publicity reasons but it did send a good message to many teens; specially females.
I perceived it as a somewhat entertaining episode to watch. I wasn't expecting something that was really on the emotional side. I did learned however, how abusive relations need to be dealt.

I am not a fan of either party.
I think that both parties have issues. Grabbing a cell phone from a driver during a heated argument is never a good idea, but the doode has apologized many times. I think R is good to get her feelings out, but I don't know that national tv was the right venue. I think she should be talking to a therapist. I understand she was hurt, and I have been in situations in relationships where I have been hurt - but 9 months after the incident is only going to bring up more bad feelings for her. She is trying to prove she is a strong woman and I think we all know this. She did walk away and that was the best thing she could have done.
I think she already made several statements on the matter. She is no longer with him and that's good. But look at how this stuff turns out? Look at John and Kate, Lindsay lohan and her dad, Candy and Tori - I could go on and on. It only brings up negative feelings and makes issues last longer than they should. These things need to be hashed out in Therapy and not the public eye. IMO
Sadly, it makes for good TV and people love to watch a good train wreck.

It’s alright if she went on national tv to talk about what had happened to her. A man is very much stronger than a woman, so any man that beats a woman knows exactly what he’s doing and is gauging his punches according to how badly he wants to hurt or kill a woman. He never lost control, he was very controlled. His apology means very little. That is a man to be very wary of. No matter his age, surely he was already taught that “you don’t hit girls”. He has violated the golden rule already. He’ll do it again.
She must go on national tv for the sake of her career, as people will never leave her alone because they are very nosey and want to know all the dirt. They have their own privacy, but want to violate the privacy of others for the sake of their own entertainment. Role model? No, she’s the one that needs a role model. She could benefit from older women helping her through the crisis so that she can get back to herself during the time it will take to get over what had happened to her.
She’s wrong that it could happen to anybody. No, that’s not true. Some men wouldn’t dare touch a woman who has already told him what she would do/have done to a man that would put his hands on her. Or have a strong father, brothers or friends that would never let him get away with it in one piece.
I think too many people are too quick to assign “role model” to some young women just because many other young women want to hate on them, are jealous of them or want to be them. Having success doesn’t necessarily mean that they can “pass it on” to someone else. The covetous ones haven’t lived her life, so they may not cross those oceans and bridges themselves, to arrive at the same conclusion.
