Some great gifts for kids can be found on Etsy and Artfire. You can support local or international crafters this way and find uber-fun children's gifts!

Some ideas are felt boards, wooden cars, dollhouses, sock creatures, superhero capes, tutus, little monsters, babydolls, puppets, play food, and fairycrowns!

Books are always a great gift. Or how about blocks or if it is an older child some type of toy that uses their imagination to build something? Or an easel to paint or draw? Play dough and balls (rubber, baseballs, kickballs, etc) are always used. A really good gift is one that will inspire the kid to play and or use their imagination. Trendy toys usually don't get as much use after the novelty wears off.

Well, it would depend on the ages of the children but puzzles, paints, arts and crafts sets might work. My son likes model trains and he and my husband like to do model car sets together.
