Answered Conundrum Next Conundrum
What are you supposed to tip your daycare/preschool provider for the holidays?
I have two kids. One is daycare and the other in preschool and they both go to a home provider. What are the rules for holiday tips? It's expense enough for the two of them per day ($160 a day), so I'm really wondering how much is appropriate?

Years ago I worked as a daycare teacher and received a wide variety of gifts from the parents of the children in my care. The gifts ranged from handmade ornaments, store bought elaborate ornaments, candy, to gift cards at quality stores in our area. If you decide to give a "tip" I think 10
% is an odd amount at $16 so what about $20?
I think a small gift is also appropriate, something like a nice photo frame, gloves, or scarf would be fine.. You can purchase scarves and glove sets at places like JC Penney's for about $10.

I'm sure many will disagree with me, but it isn't necessary to tip the provider. You are already paying them very well. A simple holiday card and a thank you will suffice.
However, if you feel you really must, place $20 in a Christmas/holiday card along with your 'thank you.'
